Air India COVID-19 UpdateReceived on – 17th March 2020
The Novel coronavirus (covid-19) cases have now been confirmed in more than 90 countries and the foot prints of this virus have been found in India. A public health situation of this scale requires a concerted effort to prevent further importation of cases and build up a robust response system.
The national carrier Air India has always been in the forefront to augment the efforts of the central government in times of national calamities. The ongoing evacuation of fellow citizens from affected countries by team air India has been applauded by no less than the Hon’ble president and the prime minister India.
In order to reduce the stress & anxiety of the passengers who must travel during this trying times and also to facilitate those who want to postpone the date of travel, air India has decided to extend following waivers
1.Applicability: for all 098 tickets & international issued till 31st march 2020
2.Applicable travel period:15th mar 20 to 30th.(both inbound/outbound)
3.Free of charge change– in date/flight/routing is allowed as per details below:

|Less than 6 months validity||30september 2020||Same or higher RBD booking allowed only, down selling of fare/RBD is not allowed|
|More than 6months validity||31march 2021||Same or higher RBD booking allowed only, down selling of fare/RBD is not allowed|
Waiver is only on penalty charges; any fare difference is to be collected.
4. Cancellation: to avail the waiver, passengers must produce the ticket the ticket(s) at least D-48 HRS (48 hours before departure) of the flight. Booking can be cancelled at any of the air India office, call center or by travel agent who has issued the ticket.
5.Rebooking/re-issuance: – passenger can rebook the ticket at the time of cancellation at air India offices/call center or in case, no future date is planned, passenger
Flights Canceled till the end of April 2020Received on – 18th March 2020
According to the communication from Air India Kenya office in Nairobi, all flights to Kenya have been canceled till the end of April 2020. Below is the communication on email. Awaiting official communication from the Head Office.
We are waiting for confirmation from the head office for endorsement. All AI flights are canceled till the end of April.
